Jerry Swain Elected Democratic National Convention Delegate

Evans– Democrats all over Georgia have begun the process of electing delegates to the Democratic National Convention which will be held September 3-6, 2012. Of the 124 delegates from Georgia, the 10th Congressional District will send five – three men and two women. The 10th Congressional District held its district level caucus Saturday, April 21, in Madison.
Of 10th District’s five men and women elected to Georgia’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention is Columbia County Democratic Party’s Jerry Swain of Martinez. Jerry is originally from Sewickley, PA. He served 24 years in the United States Military. Jerry has earned many awards and achievements from his military service; a few to include the Expert Field Medical Badge, Distinguished Honor Graduate at the US Army Airborne School, and membership in the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. He still serves all service members, retirees and their family members as a Department of Defense employee on Fort Gordon, and is a small business owner in Columbia County. He has lived in the local area since 1991. Jerry is a life-long, devoted Democrat, member of Windsor Spring Baptist Church, and member Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Jerry will represent Columbia County and the 10th District at the convention, as well as all Georgian Democrats. Georgia’s 10th Congressional District will send a delegation of 72 elected men and women.
“It’s going to be an incredibly exciting four days just up the road in Charlotte, NC, ending with President Obama’s acceptance speech,” said Patsy Harris, chairman of the 10th Congressional District for the Democratic Party of Georgia.”
