Tell Senate Republicans to give Judge Garland the hearing he deserves

Today, President Obama nominated Chief Judge Merrick Garland to serve on the Supreme Court. Judge Garland’s qualifications are indisputable. He is a talented jurist who has dedicated his life to public service, and his experience and record in the courtroom have been praised by Democrats and Republicans since he was first confirmed by the Senate in 1997.
It is headshaking that our own Senators David Purdue and Johnny Isakson are following in the misguided footsteps of their Republican colleagues by refusing to even meet with President Obama’s nominee.
Our elected officials have a responsibility to listen to the voices of the Georgians they represent. That means they need to do what is right by the people — and the Constitution — instead of serving their partisan political agenda.
Thanks for having a voice in this, And let’s make sure this is the last year the Senate plays obstruction politics on such serious matters.
