Apr 13, 7 pm – “Lifting the Veil” Program
Thursday, April 13, 2017, 7:00 PM, at the Islamic Society of Augusta, 465 Old Evans Road, in Martinez, Noha Bakr presents the next installment of the monthly religious dialogue program, “Lifting the Veil.”
The Islamic Society of Augusta is located behind the Shell gas station off Old Evans Road. The building is not visible from the road, and ongoing construction obscures the entrance. From Washington Road and Bobby Jones Expressway, take Old Evans Road towards Evans. Drive approximately 100 feet passed the light at the Shell gas station. Turn left in front of the “Road Closed” sign.
Noha Bakr graduated from the University of South Carolina. She studied Islamic Law at Princeton University. She was the Director of Development and Communication for Junior Achievement Worldwide across 13 countries of the Middle East. She was the Middle East Regional Representative for Quaker Service, a Christian international development organization. She has consulted for Department of Justice to educate law enforcement officers on approaching the American Muslim community, and she has spoken at the Capitol on shari’a. She has completed a Master of Science in nursing, and she is practicing at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
